Thank you Graham for your response. As you say, capitalism has to be questioned. Yes, it seemed a great idea and did quite some good… in the beginning. Today we have neo-liberal capitalism, crony capitalism, police state capitalism and many local variations. Currently corporate American capitalism shows the gap between poor and rich steeply rising. Slavery is back in Africa and parts of the Middle East. The US has the worlds largest prison population, because money is to be made of prisoners. You know the list. It is the drive for profit that makes us daily throw out multiple plastic bags and many other goods that need to be replaced, because selling stuff to replace stuff seems more important than nature. We have to wonder whether this model has turned into a monster. Sadly many Americans, are you one?, fear the only alternative is socialism, or neo Marxism as every slightly left idea seems to be framed as. New ideas are needed. What if there were already many other new ideas out there? I think many essential experiments are not in the news, not in the media, don’t get billions of funding (unlike some destructive corporations we know) yet might be key to saving our lives. Please wonder, why most people don’t know about them and how they might. Because, as XR tells us, 200 species are gone every day, as we continue with business as usual.
